All About Apples: Recipe Round-up

It's the kick-off day for my "All About Apples" party here at Sarah Lynn's Sweets! I don't know about you, but I love apples - especially in fall. I know it isn't quite fall yet, but it is right around the corner. September is also National Apple Month, so what better time to celebrate these tasty fruit? I've been planning this party for a while and I've got some great posts to share this week. Here is my posting schedule for the week.

My first post for the party is a round-up of apple recipes I already have here on my blog. From cupcakes to pie to cider, I've got some delicious ideas to share in this round-up. There is a variety of dishes but they all have one thing in common - delicious flavors of cinnamon and apple!

Some of these posts are from when I first started my blog, so I thought it would be fun to share some posts that haven't been seen as much.

APPLE PIE

My first recipe is a delicious apple pie! It was my second attempt at making a pie for my dad, and it went much better than the first time. For any Disney fans out there, I turned it into a Mickey themed pie by cutting out Mickey ears out of the top pie crust. The pie is packed with delicious Fall flavors of cinnamon and apple, it makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

MINI APPLE PIES WITH CINNAMON ROLL CRUST

Next up, I have mini apple pies with cinnamon roll crust! These individual size pies bake in a cupcake tin and have a delicious cinnamon roll crust. These mini pies are filled with traditional apple pie filling. The additional cinnamon in the crust just puts these over the top!

APPLE PIE CUPCAKES

Continuing with the apple pie theme, I now am sharing apple pie cupcakes. These cupcakes are packed with flavor - cinnamon/nutmeg/apples in the cupcake batter and then a cinnamon crumble on top. As if that wasn't enough flavor, I drizzled it with a deliciously rich caramel frosting. DELICIOUS!

CARAMEL APPLE CIDER

Any Starbucks fans out there? One of my favorite drinks at Starbucks is actually the caramel apple cider. Last fall I was so excited about the Caramel Apple Cider coming back into season. I could taste the cider as I rode to Starbucks to get one. Unfortunately, though, they were out of cider and said they wouldn't be getting any all weekend!! For a minute I was really disappointed, until I decided it gave me an excuse to try my hand at a copycat recipe. This Caramel Apple Cider copycat recipe is delicious, and it is made in the crock pot!

APPLE BUTTER CUPCAKES WITH CINNAMON BUTTERCREAM

Last, but definitely not least, I have apple butter cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream. I made these for a church potluck and was asked several times where I bought them. They are so easy to make, but have such a bold flavor. All I did was add a little apple butter near the top of the cupcake batter and baked it. The flavor combination with the cinnamon buttercream was perfect!

Don't forget to check back all week for additional apple themed posts! I'd love for you to share my party, I hope we have a great time this week. Come back tomorrow for a delicious, and simple, apple tart your family will love!
